Tamurra Cornish

Instructor, Raleigh

‚Äč2016 Teacher of the Year

Tamurra has been singing her whole life. She is currently a soloist at her church, sings in a choir, is in a youth band and helps with the children's church music department. She majored in music at Abington Senior High School and is currently continuing her education at Liberty University so that she can have her "very own Music Academy some day".  She volunteers at her Community Church Cary Church of God working with children ages 2 to 13 when they have musical occasions. She worked with Kids R Kids as a floater teacher for five years and as a nanny for multiple children from infants and older, sharing her musical talent whenever possible. She loves playing the xylophone with children and is looking forward to learning more instruments. She enjoys traveling seasonally with her choir Voices of Praise inside and out of the country for mission trips. Being raised in a musical family has kept Tamurra grounded in loving music all these years.
