A native of Milledgeville, Georgia, Lou Anne Hicks has a Bachelor of Music Therapy degree (1996) from Georgia College and State University in her hometown. Lou Anne started taking piano lessons as a young child and has been playing or singing music since then. Practicing in both New Jersey and North Carolina, Lou Anne has over six years of professional experience as a music therapist, most recently with Resources for Seniors Total Life Centers in Raleigh before she moved to Greensboro.
In addition to her professional experiences, Lou Anne has served in churches as a volunteer leader in children’s ministries, ranging from nursery-aged children through elementary school aged children. Through these ministries Lou Anne has led children’s music activities and taught Sunday School. She is very active in her church, where you will find her with her three children and her husband, a college professor and architect. When she’s not spending time with her family, Lou Anne enjoys reading, couponing, cooking, and exercising.
