Lara Davis

Founder/Owner, Burlington


Lara Davis is the Owner and Founder of Kidstunes Music & Movement program which serves thousands of children from birth through PreKindergarten in over 50 childcare centers throughout central North Carolina!  She attended the University of North Florida as a National Merit Scholar and holds a Bachelors Degree in Music Education, her Level 3 Certification with ECMMA, and has worked as a music educator with young children for over 25 years. She began playing the piano at age 5, and also sings, plays recorder, ukulele, some guitar and percussion. Her background and experience include many years as both performer & accompanist for the renowned UNF Jazz Choir and Chamber Singers, extensive work with music and children in various settings from birth through Middle School both public and private, Varying Exceptionalities classrooms, churches, and as director of numerous all-school musical & special event productions. 
 
She has incorporated her experience and research into the very heart of the Kidstunes program, composing original music, continually updating the curriculum & resources, marketing and expanding their services, and personally mentoring each Instructor. Alongside the other 11 instructors and office staff under her management (& growing!), Kidstunes has expanded its reach from their local beginnings to now over 20 cities in North Carolina.  Lara is a regular presenter at both national and regional conferences for various organizations in the fields of Early Childhood and Music Education, and her in-service training workshops are accredited by the NC Division of Child Development. She was the Vice President of ECMMA's former North Carolina Chapter, has served on their National Board of Directors, and most recently presented at their 2016 International Convention. She is also a member of the American Orff-Schulwerk Association, the National Association for Music Education, and the North Carolina Association for the Education of Young Children. Lara believes that continued growth in this field is essential to great teaching and maintains her passion for inspiring young students with a love of music that will last a lifetime!
