How do I know what/how my child is doing in class?
Your child's instructor sends out an e-mail each week explaining the activities and concepts covered. This update will be sent to the e-mail address provided on the enrollment form.
A Parent Bulletin is also posted after each visit near the front of the school. The location varies from school to school depending on their space. Look for a half sheet of colored paper that says "Here's What We Did This Week".
You may also e-mail your child's teacher! Visit our Locations page for a full list of schools and instructor contact information.
Student evaluations are sent home quarterly. Your child's instructor will evaluate his/her participation, understanding of the skills taught, behavior and general interest level in music class. These are placed in the child's cubby at school when completed.
Can I observe a music class?
Yes! We recommend waiting until your child has settled into the routine of going to music classes before visiting, but feel free to observe at any time. It is usually a good idea to contact the center director beforehand so they know to expect you. Also remember that while your child may be an active participant with his classmates and instructor each week, sometimes a parents' presence makes them a little shy about participating. If possible, peek in to observe prior to sitting in.
