Instructor, Chapel Hill/Carrboro/Durham
Born in Durham, North Carolina, Ebony grew up in Kaiserslautern Germany where her mother was a music teacher for the US Department of Defense Dependents Schools. At the University of North Carolina, she studied and performed classical vocal music. Ebony would eventually earn her BFA in Jazz Vocal Performance from Concordia University in Montreal. There she performed as the lead vocalist for a jazz band and worked as the publicist for a jazz musical. Back home in North Carolina, she worked as a piano teacher for young beginners; vocal instructor; and director for a children's Christmas choir that performed at Triangle Town Center in 2007.
Ebony has taught pre-K music and imagination play and art classes. She also performed as half of a jazz duo and was part of a backup group for a local gospel singer. She has over a decade of experience as an instructor for young musicians. She also enjoys performing improv comedy at Comedyworx in downtown Raleigh.
