Laurie has a B.M. and M.M. in Music Education from UNC – Greensboro, with concentration in voice.  She has been singing and playing piano since the age of 12, the viola since the age of 8, and the recorder since college.  In public and private schools, Laurie has taught elementary music for 11 years for ages 3yrs through 5th grade. She has also taught art for the last 3 years.

Laurie is a member of Early Childhood Music and Movement Association, American
Orff-Schulwerk Association and is Level III certified with Orff-Schulwerk.  She enjoys acting, singing, contra dance and especially performing in musicals with the Durham Savoyards.  Laurie is an avid reader and loves spending time with her husband and daughter.
