Brooke enjoys being an Instructor in addition to being the owner of Kidstunes Mississippi! Her two passions in life have always been The Arts -of music, painting and theatre, and The Art -of caring for and teaching children! Her many years working with children as a teacher, tutor and caregiver have enhanced her natural talent for introducing children to the joys of learning, while her lifelong study of music and theatre have given her a wealth of knowledge that she loves to share!
Brooke holds her Bachelor of Fine Arts from USM, where she attended on a vocal scholarship and was a member of the prestigious Chorale. She began acting in plays as a child and in college excelled in her theatrical studies, garnering numerous Irene Ryan nominations for her lead performances. Her theatre training also included many years of movement and dance classes. An accomplished vocalist, she has studied voice for 14 years, and also plays the guitar, piano, recorder and is learning the djembe. Brooke also studied under Kathryn Lewis, where she was a member of a children’s theatre troupe that performed throughout the southern Mississippi school system, and where she had the opportunity to be very involved in bringing arts integration to the elementary curriculum. She has enjoyed tutoring children in reading and math, and teaching at science camps, but she most loves exposing children to the transforming wonder of music. Brooke’s classes are full of enthusiasm, patience, learning, and fun!!
